Man shot while walking on Girard Avenue

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - A 23-year-old man is recovering after he was shot while walking down the street with a friend.

Police say they were on the 4700 block of Girard Avenue just before midnight when they got into some sort of a dispute with a third person, and that other person took out a gun.

The victim was shot once in the backside and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police are searching for the gunman.
