Man wanted for robbing convenience store with a big stick

A man with a big stick robbed a 7-Eleven by scaring off an employee and breaking open the cash register.

Police released surveillance video from early Wednesday at 4:27am showing the man walking into the convenience store at 1190 E. Luzerne Street.

He pulled a blue a hood over his head and approached the counter with a 2x4 piece of wood, four feet long, and raised it at the employee.

That employee ran into the stock room and closed the door to call 911.

That's when the robber reached over to break the cash register drawer with the 2x4. Then, he went behind the counter and took an unknown amount of money before getting away in an unknown direction.

The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as 30-35 years old, 6'0" to 6'2" tall, with a thin build and a beard. He was wearing a jean jacket, blue jeans and that blue mask.
