NJ man indicted for drone crimes from summer of 2023

As the mystery surrounding recent drone sightings intensifies, a man is being accused of a drone scheme carried out last year.

Anthony M. Spina, 31, is charged with criminal mischief for using drones to drop dye packs into commercial and residential pools from June 1 to September 1, 2023.

The dye packs caused the water to turn a greenish/yellow color, resulting in more than $4,000 in damage.

Officials say Spina was arrested after the drones were tracked back to him and a co-conspirator, who has not been identified.
