NJ shelter rescues 12 dogs neglected, caged in empty house

A New Jersey Animal shelter says it found 12 dogs neglected and caged inside an empty Paterson home.

"We arrived to find 12 of the most seriously matted and neglected dogs we have ever seen," Ramapo-Bergan Animal Refuge posted on Facebook.

Officials say all 12 dogs are in need of medical care and extensive grooming, with some unable to see or walk due to severe matting.

The Ramapo Bergan Animal Refuge has taken in the animals and is in the process of treating them.

The shelter is currently accepting donations to support the medical care of the rescued pups. If you would like to donate or learn more, see here.
