NWS confirms tornado touched down in Laurel, Del.

A tornado touched down in Laurel, Delaware early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS says the E-F2 tornado traveled from Woodland Ferry Road northeast to Pepper Road around 3:38 a.m. The tornado carried wind gusts up to 120 MPH.

A tree fell onto a house, which resulted in one injury. No word on the extent of the person's injury.

One barn was completely destroyed and several other homes and barns were damaged.

No other injuries were reported.
