Oakland Warehouse Fire: How you can help
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - In response to the tragic fire that broke out during a party at an Oakland warehouse, fundraisers have started for victims and their families.
One fundraiser can be found at YouCaring.com, which was started by the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts. And a GoFundMe has been started to support the residents that lost their home or art space in the blaze.
In addition, on Sunday, Blue Bottle Coffee is donating 100% of their sales from their Oakland locations to a fund to help victims and families of the fire.
The Oakland A's said it would match donations up to $30,000 that were made via the YouCaring.com site. The Raiders said the team will observe a moment of silence at the start of the game on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills that will be played in the Oakland Coliseum.
The Golden State Warriors said Saturday night that the team would donate $50,000 to support the victims of the fire.
The team, which said it would hold a moment of silence before Saturday's game versus the Phoenix Suns, said it would give the funds to the Unity Council in the Fruitvale district. The group is a non-profit organization devoted to improving the the lives of the residents in the area.
