PennDOT hiring drivers, mechanics ahead of winter

As the Philadelphia area gets closer and closer to seeing our first flakes of the season, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is facing a shortage of snow plow drivers.

PennDOT announced they were hiring for their winter maintenance program earlier this week, looking to hire for temporary positions that they fill on a seasonal basis.

The Department says they have hundreds of positions open in the program statewide.

Along with drivers with commercial driver's licenses class A or B, PennDOT is also looking to hire diesel mechanics to help service the trucks.
