Persons of interest in custody after Bustleton home invasion

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - There was a big show of support for a Korean War veteran who was the victim of a home invasion.

In a roaring show of support for 88-year-old home invasion robbery victim Peter Labuda, over 50 Warriors Watch riders cruised past his Bustleton home Wednesday night, then stopped in for a visit to let the Korean War veteran know they have his back.

"I'm 88 and there were three or four of them. What can I do?," said Peter Labuda .

Labuda described the harrowing ordeal inside his Bustleton home when a crew of home invaders entered his house just after 3 a.m. Wednesday.

"A girl that he knew of, an acquaintance, knocked on the door. He opened the door and was forcibly taken by two males," Lt. Dennis Rosenbaum of Northeast Detectives told FOX 29.

Police say Luda, was tied up at gunpoint as two suspects ransacked his home stealing $30,000 in cash, guns, a safe along with his mint condition 1986 Cadillac Fleetwood.

"$100,000 diamond ring they stole. I don't know how many hundreds of thousands in jewelry. One ring 5-carats," said Labuda.

Police and detectives quickly put out an alert and found the stolen car at Madison and Emerald. Two persons of interest were arrested. Tonight, detectives searched their home for evidence.

"They're persons of interest right now. We have them in custody now," said Lt. Rosenbaum.

Labuda greeted the crowd from his front door Wednesday night, but was too exhausted to come outside. The riders and neighbors didn't mind, they were here to show their gratitude and support one of their own.
