Pinecone thief apologizes to national park
(FOX NEWS) - It's not easy to say you're sorry.
Last week, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California got something surprising: a pinecone and an apology note from an unidentified person who took it home from the park.
Apparently, the contrite "pinecone thief" was guilt-ridden and had a change of heart.
The park, which is located in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains, posted the heartwarming note to their Facebook page, and it's making people around the country smile.
The note wasn't signed, but the handwriting led the park and others to believe it was written by a child.
How old is the tree? More than 1,600 years old.
