Police investigate barricade situation in West Philadelphia

It was a tense night for neighbors in West Philadelphia.

Authorities cleared the scene of a barricade situation after it lasted about an hour.

It started around 6:20 p.m. on the 4300 block of Wyalusing Avenue. .

Police say they received a 911 call for gunshots. Neighbors say they heard at least eight shots fired.

Once officers arrived on scene, they say a witness told them that the shooter, identified as a 14-year-old boy with no shirt on, ran into a nearby home and wouldn't come out.

Police say a woman and several children were able to leave the home, but the teen would not.

The SWAT team arrived in an armoured vehicle, and in less than an hour, they were able to get two teens out of the home.

The teens are being questioned, according to police.

No one was injured in the incident.
