Police investigate shooting of 13-year-old boy

Police are investigating a shooting involving a 13-year-old boy.

The incident happened just before noon on Friday when a 13-year-old boy and witness flagged down an officer at the corner of 26th and Tasker Streets.

According to police, they said the teen had been shot in the left foot and needed medical attention. Both the teen and witness were transported to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

At the hospital, police say the 13-year-old refused to cooperate with police.

The witness stated that the boy was shot on the 1500 block of South 26th Street and he carried him to the police car.

After surveying the area for a scene, officers came up with negative results.
