Police: Man, 23, shot and killed in Hunting Park

HUNTING PARK (WTXF) - Police are investigating after a 23-year-old was shot and killed in Hunting Park.

Just before 5 p.m. on Monday, officers responded to the 1300 block of Pike Street, where they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim, identified as Benjamin Davis of Colwyn Street, was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Police learned the victim was previously standing on the corner outside the Rodriguez Pike grocery with other men when an unknown man approached him, firing three times.

Police describe the suspect as a black man wearing a black hooded jacket, blue jeans and white sneakers. He was last seen running westbound on Pike Street following the alleged shooting.

This is an ongoing investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.
