Police: Man found murdered, set on fire in Bridesburg
BRIDESBURG, PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police are investigating a gruesome murder after discovering a dead body that had been set on fire in Bridesburg Saturday morning.
Around 5 a.m. on Saturday on the 2900 block of East Orthodox Street, Quickway Transfer Center workers discovered the deceased--an unknown white or Hispanic man--shot multiple times and burned beyond recognition.
The workers did see a sedan flee from the area, though no description of the sedan or its occupants has been given.
Eight fired cartridge casings and an unknown accelerant, presumably used to set the body on fire, were discovered at the scene.
No arrests have been made at this time and no motives listed. This is an ongoing investigation.
