Police: Man found shot in car had been in bar fight

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) - Police say the man whose body was found in the back seat of a car in South Philadelphia had just been involved in a bar fight.

They got to the 2600 block of Emily Street at about 2am Monday and found the 35-year-old man seated in the back seat. He'd been shot in the left side of his chest, taken to the hospital and pronounced dead soon after.

Now, police say, "The preliminary investigation reveals that the victim was involved in a physical altercation ... inside and outside of the Watutsi Bar, located at 4600 Walnut Street, approximately 30 minutes prior."

They don't know who the other person is and are not releasing the victim's name, pending family notification.
