Police: Man shot girlfriend with crossbow in Northeast Phila

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - Philadelphia Police say a woman has died following a shooting in the city's Northeast section.

The incident happened inside a home in the 8th district. Officers arrived to the scene at around 9:20p.m. Sunday in the 3100 block of Willits Road.

A 42-year old woman was shot in the chest with a crossbow and was rushed to Aria-Torresdale Hospital. She later died from her injuries.

Officers say they have arrested a 40-year old boyfriend in connection with the shooting at the scene.

There is no word on the motive for the shooting at this time.
