Police: NJ father moving car accidentally hits, injures toddler
CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a father accidentally struck and seriously injured his toddler daughter while moving his car in the driveway of their northern New Jersey home.
The 18-month-old girl was struck around 7 a.m. Monday at the Chatham Township home. She was hospitalized in serious condition, but her name and further details on her injuries were not disclosed.
Chatham police say the girl's father told them he was warming up his vehicle and then began moving it to the side of the home when the accident occurred.
The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed so far.
The father's name has not been released.
