Police: Store owner shoots, kills attempted robbery suspect
PHILADELPHIA (FOX 29) - Philadelphia police say a store owner shot and killed a would-be robber in West Philadelphia Thursday night.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. on the 5400 block of Wyalusing Avenue.
Police say a man wearing a mask walked into the food mart with the intention of robbing the store, but the owner shot him in the stomach.
The suspect was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The store owner was not hurt. Authorities have not yet said if he will face any charges.
