Police: Suspects sought in Center City armed mugging

CENTER CITY (FOX 29) - Police say three men robbed a man and woman at gunpoint early Thursday morning in Center City.

According to authorities, the victims were walking north on the 700 block of South Broad Street shortly before 3:00 a.m. when three men approached them from behind.

The suspects, two of whom were armed with handguns, allegedly demanded the victim's belongings.

The suspects took a backpack and a purse, among other items, before they fled the scene heading north on Broad Street.

Police say one of the suspects was arrested shortly after the robbery.

The two outstanding suspects are both thin black men in their mid-20's, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-eleven.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothing at the time of the robbery. One of the men was riding a blue and silver ten speed bike.
