Police warn community about drug-laced candy in Franklin Township
FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, N.J. (FOX 29) - Authorities in Franklin Township, New Jersey has issued a warning to the community after a two-month investigation prompted by a large amount of marijuana was being distributed within the township.
The Franklin Township Police Department issued a press release after officers conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of a Malaga business that resulted in the arrest of two men and the seizure of over six pounds of raw marijuana and two pounds of edible marijuana candies.
Franklin Township Police also seized $10,000 during the traffic stop on Jan. 22. Officials arrested 26-year-old Stevan Austino, of Vineland, and 31-year-old Michael Wilcox, of Philadelphia. Both face multiple drug-related charges.
The press release shared to the community is a reminder to parents to be vigilant of the various forms that marijuana and orther drugs come in, according to officials.
