Pot-laced candy burns on Delaware Memorial Bridge

Police say a pot advocacy company's RV carrying marijuana-laced candy burst into flames on the Delaware Memorial Bridge at about 6pm Sunday, causing lane closures and tying up traffic for hours.

Weed World Candies told FOX 29 News about $60,000 to $70,000 in merchandise was destroyed when one of its vehicles heading from Washington, D.C., to Philadelphia caught fire on the bridge that connects New Jersey and Delaware.

Passing drivers captured the flames with pictures and video while all northbound lanes were closed.

The company uses tour vehicles to sell marijuana-laced lollipops, and promote the legalization and decriminalization of pot.

None of the five employees on the truck were injured.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
