Radnor Twp. elementary school on lockdown after possible bear sighting

BRYN MAWR, PA (WTXF) - A Radnor Township Elementary school has gone into a lockdown after a possible bear sighting in the area Tuesday morning.

The School District confirmed the Ithan Elementary School In Bryn Mawr was locked down shortly before, and say the action was taken out of an abundance of caution.

The district says there were reports the bear was spotted in the woods near the school's grounds.

Authorities are combing the area for further signs of the bear, while school district officials prepare a note to send to parents.
