Rescuers treat shark-bitten seal found on Jersey Shore beach
BRIGANTINE, NJ (WTXF) - The Marine Mammal Stranding Center has come to the rescue after a seal was found on a Sandy Hook beach suffering from a shark bite.
The rescue group, based out of Brigantine, New Jersey, relayed the incident in a Facebook post on Thursday. According to the group, the young female seal may take several months to recover and return to sea.
Donations for the seal's food, medication and recovery are being accepted via www.mmsc.org.
The center also accepts small-item donations for common items like paper towels, windex, old beach and hand towels, sharpie pens and copy paper.
