Skeet shooting noise upsets neighbors in NE Philadelphia
PHILADELPHIA, PA (WTXF) - A mixture of gun shots and birds chirping can be heard in a Northeast Philadelphia neighborhood.
The noise of the gunfire has some neighbors fuming.
The sounds are coming from The Union League Country Club where some skeet shooters have been busy practicing their hobby, but neighbors call it noise pollution.
FOX 29's Brad Sattin spoke with neighbors about the continuing blasts of gunfire.
The owners of the union league brought the property about a year ago and neighbors were told there would be trap shooting happening from October until March.
Neighbors say it has gotten really bad at times. They can hear upwards of 100 shots in a very short period of time.
The Union League owner says this type of shooting is nothing new. This activity started a few months ago for a competition.
We were out by the Union League for about an hour and half and sporadically heard gunshots. FOX 29 put a request in to talk to the manager, but we have not heard back yet.
