Snow showers possible during evening rush hour

Monday morning brought snow to some southern parts of the area, and Monday afternoon could bring a few more snow showers.

FOX 29's Kathy Orr expects scattered snow showers and some heavier bursts of snow during the evening rush.

Despite lasting just a few minutes, the showers will reduce visibility, so motorists should proceed with caution.

Monday morning's snow fell further south, so the area covered by the Winter Weather Advisory shank before it expired.

Officially, 2 to 3 inches of snow landed in Cape May County, but Cumberland and other South Jersey counties only picked up trace amounts of snow. Those areas had been expected to get at least an inch.

WEATHER ALERTS: Watches, warnings, advisories by county

FOX 29's Sue Serio reported snow falling early in Kent and Sussex counties in Delaware, and Cape May and parts of Cumberland counties in New Jersey.

Roads were wet and maybe a little slippery in those areas.
