Sources: Philadelphia police investigate death of H.R. McMaster's father as 'suspicious'

After a call from the White House, Philadelphia police went to the Cathedral Village in Roxborough to investigate the suspicious death of H.R. McMaster Sr., according to sources. He is the father of President Trump's former national security advisor.

According to police sources, crime scene investigators and detectives found a hole in a wall at the facility where the 84-year-old McMaster may have hit his head after a fall. Sources say the senior McMaster was placed in a chair following the fall. Questions then arose about whether he received any medical attention after falling and striking his head. He died a few days later.

Sources say police took photos of the scene and interviewed Cathedral employees after McMaster's family was notified about the circumstances surrounding his death. McMaster was being treated there after a recent stroke.

According to sources, the medical examiners office, the district attorney and the attorney general's office are also involved in the investigation. Early Wednesday afternoon several high-ranking officials in the police department refused comment.
