Students March Over Student Debt and $15 Minimum Wage

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF/AP) Local university students are marching in support of free tuition, a $15 minimum wage for campus workers and the cancellation of debt from student loans.

Hundreds of students converged on City Hall from Temple, Penn, Drexel, CCP and high school campuses with red "Raise the Minimum Wage" signs and banners, hand-made banners and posters, as well as trash-bags with money signs to symbolize student debt.

The event is known as the Million Student March. The demonstrations are happening Thursday at schools from Massachusetts to Hawaii were inspired by remarks Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders made in June.
