Suspect in botched West Philadelphia robbery facing charges

The suspect in a botched Philadelphia robbery is in jail facing a number of charges.

The incident happened May 5. Investigators say 24-year-old Jovuan Patterson shot Mike Peong with an AK-47 at Peong's store at 54th and Spruce. Patterson allegedly tried to rob Peong's store and Peong fought back.

Peong has had numerous surgeries and is recovering.

Detectives were able to speak with him and that information led to the suspect.

Patterson faces several charges, including attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Police say they are trying to recover the AK-47.
