Suspect sought in assault of man with autism on SEPTA bus

Police are searching for a suspect accused of attacking a man with autism on a SEPTA bus in Center City.

The incident took place on the 48 bus on the 2000 block of Market Street when the victim was involved in a verbal altercation with an unknown man.

When the altercation turned physical, the man allegedly punched the victim several times, resulting in numerous bumps and bruises.

Police describe the suspect as a 30-year-old black man who is 5 foot 7 inches tall with a thin build and goatee. Surveillance footage of the incident shows the man wearing a dark colored knit hat and dark colored clothing.
