Teacher charged with child pornography possession

MOUNT HOLLY, N.J. -(WTXF) Authorities say a high school teacher in Cumberland County was arrested and charged with possession of child pornography.

David L. Rodriguez,52, of Evesham, New Jersey, was charged with one count of Endangering Welfare of Children (Third Degree)

The case will be presented to a Burlington County Grand Jury to determine whether an indictment should be returned against the defendant, according to authorities.

Investigators say the investigation revealed that Rodriguez allegedly used an online cloud service to upload photos and videos depicting child pornography. Authorities say many of the images depicted pre-pubescent and underage boys engaging in sexual acts.

Rodriguez was taken into custody Wednesday at his residence following the execution of a search warrant. He was placed in the Burlington County Jail on $15,000 bail. Rodriguez, who is employed as a biology teacher at Cumberland Regional High School in Bridgeton, will have a first appearance in Superior Court in Burlington County Thursday afternoon.
