Teen recovering from being shot in his leg

A 17-year-old had to be rushed to the hospital because he'd been shot in his left leg.

It happened just after 4am Thursday in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say the teen told them he was on his cell phone near Harbison and E. Cheltenham avenues and heard five shots. No ballistic evidence was recovered.

The teen is in stable condition, and the incident is under investigation. Police do not have a motive or description of a suspect.
