Student reactions and ongoing concerns

What they're saying:

Some students say Temple already does a lot to keep them safe, pointing to blue light towers, escort services, and alert messages.

"It’s a lot that Temple makes sure to keep us safe and when I heard that it happened almost 3 in the morning I mean I was in bed and I know a lot of this can be solved by not going out alone and keeping aware of your surroundings," said Francine Rodriguez, a Temple sophomore.

Others believe security could be improved.

"I just like feel really bad and I don’t think that a whole bunch of kids should be able to get inside of a building and like do that to him I think there should have been better security," said Kyla Bivins, a Temple sophomore.

Some students say they feel safe on campus but stress the importance of making smart decisions. "I definitely feel safe here. I’ve never not felt safe you just gotta be smart," said Miles Gordon, a Temple freshman.

What we don't know:

The Philadelphia Police Department and the School District of Philadelphia are helping Temple Police attempt to identify the teens.

Police have not released the identities of the suspects or said if any arrests have been made.

It is not clear how the group entered the building or if they were students.

What you can do:

Police are asking anyone who recognizes the young men in the released photos to contact them to help with the investigation.
