Two store owners hurt in violent Upper Darby armed robbery
UPPER DARBY, PA (WTXF) - Police in Upper Darby are investigating an attempted armed robbery turned violent Saturday. Now, investigators are looking for a lone gunman who they say is armed and dangerous.
The incident occurred at a grocery store on the 6700 block of Market Street around 5:30 p.m.
Police say the suspect entered the store and demanded money from two store owners. A short time later, the suspect opened fire on the owners, striking one in the chest, and the other in the leg.
Both victims were rushed to the hospital, where one was placed serious condition and the other was stabilized.
The suspect fled after the shooting, and was last seen running east on Market Street.
Authorities say they are hoping to review surveillance video from inside the store in an effort to identify and track down the suspect.
