Video shows suspect trashing convenience store

Deputies in Jacksonville say a suspected shoplifter got wild after clerks locked her inside to keep her from getting away. Surveillance video shows the woman flinging items all over the store before getting away.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, the woman walked into a Shell station convenience store in downtown Jacksonville and tried to hide $11 worth of candy bars in her pockets. When the clerks confronted her, she tried to take off -- so they locked the door.

That's when the woman started taking items off the shelves and tossing them around the store. Surveillance video shows several angles of the woman's outburst. She casually walks around, knocking boxes of food and snacks onto the floor and the counter -- making it impossible to walk -- as the clerks try to stop her.

Finally, she smashes some bottles on the floor, apparently unlocks the door, and pushes her way out past presumably puzzled onlookers.

Deputies shared the video on social media Monday in hopes that someone will recognize her. There is a $3,000 reward for information leading to her arrest.
