Wanted for bank robbery and attempt at credit union, minutes apart

One man is wanted for an attempted robbery at a credit union and a successful one at a bank - both happening in just in 25 minutes.

The Philadelphia Police Department and the FBI say at about 2:20pm Monday, he entered the Police and Fire Federal Credit Union branch at 9th and Arch streets in Center City. He showed a teller a demand note but soon ran away empty-handed.

Then, at about 2:45pm, he entered the nearby Citizens Bank branch at 12th and Spring Garden streets. There, he showed a teller a demand note, got an undisclosed amount of cash and ran away.

The robber is described as in his 30s, about 5'8" to 5'9" tall, with a medium complexion and bald head. He had a trimmed beard/goatee and was wearing a black leather jacket over a black hooded sweatshirt and white t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.

He is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone with information is urged to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or Philadelphia police.

Authorities say there's a reward for information leading to his capture and tipsters can remain anonymous.
