Will Jalen Hurts play in NFC Championship game? What Eagles QB said about knee injury

The Eagles playoff win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday was tinged with concern after Jalen Hurts appeared to tweak his leg during a second-half sack.

Hurts briefly writhed on the ground after the third down play in the final minutes of the third quarter, but quickly popped up and gingerly walked around the field.

Hurts, who missed the final two games of the regular season with a concussion, played the rest of the game with a left knee brace and appeared to be hobbled.

What we know:

In the closing minutes of the third quarter in a 13-13 tie game, Hurts dropped back to pass on 2nd & 15 and was dragged to the turf by two Rams defenders.

PHILADELPHIA, PA - JANUARY 19: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (1) gets sacked during the NFC Divisional Playoff game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams on January 19th, 2025 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphi

Replay showed Hurts' left leg awkwardly fold underneath him as he was pulled down. He briefly remained on the ground, but popped up and walked gingerly.

Hurts did not miss an offensive snap and played the remainder of the game with a brace on his left knee following a trip to the medical tent.

The Eagles did not offer an update on Hurts' leg after the game.

What they're saying:

Hurts was mum about the health status of his leg after the game.

"I'm sure I'll get asked about it later, I'm not sure I can answer it right now, but I'm gonna go enjoy this win with my teammates," Hurts told NBC's Melissa Stark.

When Stark further pressed the Eagles quarterback for an answer, asking "Are you ok?" Hurts replied "I finished the game."

Hurts continued to be aloof in the postgame press conference with the media, but voiced his confidence that he will play in the NFC Championship game on Sunday.

"Tough game, challenging game, I was able to finish the game, and we'll see how the week goes," Hurts said.

When asked if he's confident that he will play against the Commanders for a shot at a Super Bowl appearance, Hurts answered simply "yes."
