Winter storm warning in effect, snow moving into the area

PHILADELPHIA (WTXF) A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 12:00 a.m. Tuesday to 6 a.m. Wednesday.

The rain/snow mix will transition to snow after midnight and continue through Tuesday. The snow is spreading through the east. The period of the most intense snow will be during the day Tuesday. We will see periods of lulls.

Impacts and accumulating snow will affect travel late Monday night through Tuesday night, including the rush hour commutes. The snow will end Wednesday between midnight and 4 a.m.

According to the FOX 29 Weather Authority, we should expect 1-3" down the shore, 2-5" in Philly and the suburbs and 3-6" in Wilmington, Newark, Coatesville and Chadds Ford.
