Woman says she was 'slut-shamed' by her driver for wearing knee-length dress

(STORYFUL) - Aishwariya Subramanian posted a lengthy Facebook status on April 24 after she says her rickshaw driver told her that her outfit was "inappropriate."

Based in Bangalore, India, Subramanian was enraged that her knee-length dress provoked her driver to tell her she was "dressed like a slut."

Subramanian confronted the man before she asked him for permission to take his photo which she said he accepted because he wants "his message" to spread.

Subramanian described the situation further, saying some other people in the vicinity voiced their opinions, but largely she was left to deal with the man on her own, adding "this is the first time I have been so publicly slut shamed."

Subramanian ended her post on a defiant note, saying "you want to know why we fight for our dignity? Because even the clothes we wear makes us sluts."
