Young boy gifted Isaiah Rodgers' gloves in once-in-a-lifetime Eagles NFC Championship game

A young Eagles fan was one of the thousands at the Linc for the NFC Championship game.

How he got the tickets? Well, let's just say it started with a simple question: Would you rather have $1,000 cash or a mystery bird?

He made the right choice! Then he took his prize and paid it forward.

What we know:

Influencer MD Motivator picked 8-year-old Declan LeBaron to go to the Eagles vs. Commanders game Sunday after hearing about his painful battle with systemic juvenile arthritis, a rare condition that put him in the hospital for more than 90 days over the past two years.

"It was a day for him to forget everything medical. He just lived in the moment, and he had a smile from ear to ear!" said Jillian LeBaron, Declan's mom.

Declan’s mom didn’t tell her son what was happening when they met the mystery man at a Dollar Tree on Saturday and gave him the choice.

"Would you rather have $1,000 cash or a mystery bird?" the man asked.

"He gave me the $1,000, and then we blessed a whole bunch of people. Why did you do that? Because it just feels really good!" Declan said.

"Everything is free! Thank you!" they announced to others.

"Tears, tears of happiness and joy of just watching his giving heart and spirit," said his mom.

And after Declan paid it forward, he got the news he was going to his very first Eagles game!

"I feel happy, grateful, and stuff like that. Like happy, excited, grateful... all the above? Yeah!" Declan exclaimed.

"Amazing, amazing. He was just in awe the whole time. It was his first time at a game. He’s never been to a stadium before," his mom said.

Meeting the Eagles

It was a day when he felt like a true celebrity, meeting Saquon Barkley, LeSean McCoy, Swoop, and his favorite moment?

"Probably Isaiah Rogers because he gave me his game day gloves!" Declan said.

"They were amazing at one of their most important games. They took the time to come and talk to Declan. That shows how special those players really are," his mom added.

The 8-year-old who’s been in so much pain knows other kids have also gotten the same special treatment thanks to one special man, and it makes him smile.

"I feel happy that they’re getting a day off from their sickness and don’t have to think about it. Did that mean so much to you? Yeah," Declan said.

So, of course, Declan is predicting a huge Eagles victory in the Super Bowl.
