109-year-old Virginia McLaurin honored by Harlem Globetrotters at game
WASHINGTON (FOX 5 DC) - D.C.'s most well-known centenarian took the court at Capital One Arena as she showed off her basketball skills with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Virginia McLaurin became a superstar a few years ago after she famously met and danced with former President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama at the White House. She has shown no signs of slowing down ever since.
McLaurin got the red carpet treatment on Wednesday as she was honored in front of thousands of fans during the tipoff of the Globetrotters' game. She was later brought to center court where she spun a basketball on her finger with the help of Globetrotters player Briana "Hoops" Green.
The 109-year-old D.C. woman is no stranger to the Harlem Globetrotters as she has celebrated her last three birthdays with her favorite team.
