Sixers Add Colangelo to Management

Big news for the struggling Philadelphia 76ers: They've added a basketball lifer to their front office.

Jerry Colangelo, who has run NBA teams and is also Chairman of the Board of Directors for USA Basketball, has joined the Sixers as Special Advisor to the Managing General Partner and Chairman of Basketball Operations.

"Jerry Colangelo is one of the most respected people in basketball and we are excited to add his five decades of knowledge, relationships and experience to help drive our organization forward Sixers co-Managing Owner Josh Harris said in a statement.

Colangelo ran the Phoenix Suns during their reign of success in the early 1990s, which coincided with the arrival in town, from the 76ers, of Charles Barkley. He entered the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2004.
