Wentz to donate to charity of Jake Elliot's choice after game-winning FG

Eagles' Quarterback Carson Wentz will be making a donation to the charity of a teammate's choice after he was caught on a microphone saying he would give kicker Jake Elliot his game check if he hit the game-winning field goal last Sunday.

Wentz was wearing a microphone during the Eagles home opener at Lincoln Financial Field Sunday, when kicker Jake Elliot stepped into the spotlight to attempt a game-winning 61-yard field goal.

Ahead of the kick, Wentz was filmed on the sidelines talking with teammates about the ramifications of the kick against the division rival, New York Giants.

"This guy's a superhero if he makes it," Wentz was heard saying to a team staff member.

Later in the video, Wentz is heard saying, "I'll give him my game check if he makes it," to a few teammates.

The video and sound surfaced after Sunday's game, and was later addressed by both Wentz and Elliot.

Instead of giving the rookie kicker his game check, Wentz said Wednesday that he would donate a portion of his game check to a charity of Elliot's choice.
