Philly weather: Dangerous, extreme cold grips region with single digit temperatures
PHILADELPHIA - From flakes to freezing, the winter weather continues in the Philadelphia area this week.
The bitter cold follows a snow storm on Sunday that brought a couple of inches of snow that has now frozen over into potentially dangerous conditions.
A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for several counties until noon on Wednesday.
What we know:
Temperatures dropped to single digits for several counties in Pennsylvania, Delaware and New Jersey overnight Tuesday, forcing several schools to delay openings.
Tuesday saw sunny skies turn to cloudy skies, while temps barely touched 25 degrees for the day.
And the frigid conditions don't stop there.
Timeline:
The entire region can expect single digits again Tuesday night before seeing the coldest weather since 2022 on Wednesday, then dipping back to single digits for Wednesday and Thursday night.
Some sun in the sky will give the illusion of warmer weather until we finally get above freezing on Friday.

Drivers are being urged to use caution, and look out for icy spots as they hit the roads this week.
FOX 29 was at the scene as black ice caused several vehicles to crash on one Philadelphia street.
