Weather Authority: Bitter wind chills Thursday ahead of weekend warmup

The Philadelphia area will experience bitter wind chills Thursday morning ahead of record warmth for the weekend. 

Temperatures will ramp up to 66 degrees on Saturday, up from a high of 36 on Thursday. The record high for January is 66 degrees set in 1975.

A snow squall hit the region early Wednesday afternoon, threatening travel with white-out conditions in heavy blowing snow.
