1 dead after roadside altercation ends in gunfire

DELAWARE COUNTY, Pa. (WTXF) - Police are investigating a deadly altercation in Aston, Delaware County that occurred on the side of a road Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred along Bridgewater Road in the area of Judy Way just before 6 a.m.

Investigators say the victim got out of his car to approach a car that had been broken down on the side of the road, and an altercation ensued.

At that time, police say the man in the broken down car shot and killed the victim. Police recovered the weapon, and say they took a person of interest into custody.

Investigators say the incident has been classified as a roadside altercation and not a road rage situation.
