19 shots fired between gunman, security guards outside bar

Three people are recovering from bullet wounds after a shootout near a Strawberry Mansion bar that involved three of the bar's private security guards.

Police say it happened at about 2:30am when "two large groups were arguing at the intersection of Ridge Avenue and 28th Street."

A 26-year-old woman was hit in her back while running. She had surgery and is in critical condition.

Then, according to reports to police, "As the armed security from Ridge Capital Bar and Grill were rendering aid to victim #1, the unknown offenders were observed entering a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a BMW, made a U-turn, drove by the armed security and rolled down their windows; at that time, the armed security fired at the vehicle. The vehicle was last observed traveling northbound on Sedgley Avenue."

Police told FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce security guards returned about 19 shots.

Two other people were shot, and who shot them is still under investigation.

A 24-year-old man was hit twice in his abdomen. Police say he was sitting on steps, said he was shot, and "making a throwing motion to the ground near a parked vehicle. Responding officers located a firearm from that location." That victim is now in critical condition.

And a 32-year-old man suffered a graze wound to his head. He will be alright.

It's still not clear who started the shooting.

Police are interviewing all three security guards, and there have been no arrests.
