4th Arrest Made in Alleged Cyber Bullying and Sexting Case

Berwyn Pa. (WTXF) It was a story that rocked a community when it first broke. Local students are accused of swapping images allegedly showing sex and nudity involving children.

On Thursday, authorities announced a fourth arrest and gave new details about what sparked the whole thing.

Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan revealed details about a cyber bullying case in the Tredyffrin Easttown School District last spring. He says a 13-year-old middle school girl was convinced by her then boyfriend to send sexy photos. According to the DA, when the two broke up the boy then sends them to a bunch of his friends.

"What do you think those males friends did. They pushed them to the entire world and now those pictures are everywhere," Hogan said.

Hogan says they didn't stop with just sexting, they allegedly cyberbullied the girl.

"They went after her online, on social media and in school as well. They isolated her, they made fun of her, they did everything to make her life hell on earth," Hogan explained.

And it gets worse.

"One of these boys actually took a picture of two adults engaged in a sex act and posted this girls face onto that picture and sent it around."

The sexting scandal has rocked the community where it's public schools are ranked among the top in the state.
