Bucks County Sheriff's Office helps family in need

Police officers in Bucks County helped lend a hand to a family in need and put a smile on one precious little girl's face.

According to a post on the Bucks County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Sergeant Rafferty with the Sheriff's Office was contacted by Deputy Jessica Francis from the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office in Florida.

Deputy Francis informed Sergeant Rafferty that one of her friends was stranded in Bucks County.

The family, one of which is a disabled, autistic 5-year-old girl, were stuck in a hotel room in Bensalem.

Deputy Francis requested assistance regarding a vehicle repair.

Sergeant Rafferty contacted a local dealership and was told that the repair was going to take longer than they expected.

So he decided to go with Plan B.

Sgt. Rafferty along with other deputies from the Sheriff's Office, Bensalem Township Sgt. Blickly, and Middletown Twp. Sgt. Kroiss and Officer Berry, decided to leap into action.

According to the post, the group said that since the little girl and her family drove from Florida to Pennsylvania just to make the trip to Sesame Place, they were going to make it happen.

The Bucks County Sheriff's Office, Bensalem Township Police, and Middletown Police took the family to Sesame Place!
