Burglar Forced to Call 911 After Getting Stuck in an Elevator, Police Say

LAUREL, DE (INSIDE EDITION)- A teen who allegedly broke into a school was forced to call 911 after he became stuck in an elevator, authorities say.

Police said Michael Claude, 19, was arrested after he tried to steal a jacket from Laurel Middle School in Delaware and rode a buffing machine down the hallway - before getting stuck in an elevator.

Cops say Claude called 911 and he was arrested after maintenance staff were able to get him out of the elevator. Police said it cannot be repaired until next week.

Cops say they also found a letterman jacket that allegedly did not belong to Claude.

Claude was charged with third-degree burglary, criminal mischief and theft. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 3 and released with a $3,800 unsecured bond. It was not immediately clear who was representing the teen.
