Community Steps Up For Homeless Man After Christmas Tree is Taken

A homeless man who goes by the name "Philly" decided to celebrate the season by setting up a Christmas tree near where he camps out under New Orleans' Pontchartrain Expressway. However, the tree was soon taken, on more than one occasion, at least once by the city's garbage truck crew, Philly says.

According to local TV station WGNO, when a group of good Samaritans heard about Philly's predicament, they started dropping off new Christmas trees- as well as gifts to go under them. At one point, Philly had as many as nine, he said.
