Fisherman Dies In Wissahickon Creek

A fisherman is dead after an accident on the Wissahickon Creek.

Rescuers starting looking for him just after 9pm Tuesday.

Police say the 63-year old from South Philadelphia was fishing with two friends when his line hit a snag.

He waded in about waist-deep then slipped under and didn't resurface. His body was found about 40-minutes later.

Officials say the creek is about 25-feet deep in that area.
